Wake up to Wakestock

Excitement continues to build for Oxfordshire's newest festival, mixing the thrill of adrenaline sport, with top name music acts.

Wakestock, takes over the stately grounds of Blenheim Palace, in Woodstock on the weekend of June 27-29.

The event is based around the twin pursuits of wakeboarding - being towed behind a speed boat at ridiculous speeds - and getting down to great music, while sipping the occasional intoxicating beverage.

The bash coincides with that other great gathering, Glastonbury. But while Glastonbury has suffered a slower start to ticket sales, Wakestock is looking good.

Headlining are dance act Groove Armada, Oxford's Supergrass, and Mark Ronson - whose groundbreaking collaborations with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Robbie Williams have earned him three Grammys and a Brit Award.

The artist, who had a top 10 album with Version, has form for turning up with top-names with whom he has worked. So don't be at all surprised to find him sharing the stage with one of the artists from the album - which featured the talents of Amy Winehouse, Tim Burgess, Maximo Park's Paul Smith, and Kasabian.

He will be joined by a stellar line- up including our very own Young Knives, The Streets, The Futureheads, Calvin Harris, Pendulum, Lightspeed Champion, Trophy Twins, Funeral for a Friend, Hadouken, Metronomy, Jazzie B and Audio Bullys.

Tickets are £40 for the day; £85 for the weekend; or £110 for combined weekend and camping passes. For tickets, visit wegottickets.com
