The AA

If your car can't be fixed by the roadside, the AA will take you and your car to the nearest garage or an alternative local destination, provided this is no further.

If, following a breakdown at the roadside, prompt repair can't be organised, the AA will transport you, your car and up to seven passengers home, or to any mainland UK destination of your choice.

The AA also offers help when you have broken down at home or within a quarter of a mile of it.

If you break down away from your home and a prompt repair is not possible, they provide you with either a replacement hire car for up to 48 hours, or overnight accommodation, or reasonable onward travel expenses.

Find out more online at www.theaa.com or call 0800 085 2721.

The RAC

RAC provides a comprehensive range of motoring and vehicle services to consumers and businesses.

These range from those learning to drive with BSM, peace of mind with RAC breakdown cover, automotive glass replacement, insurance, financial and legal services, to customers using RAC and HPI for vehicle history checks.

The RAC's roadside assistance service has around seven million customers.

The RAC's breakdown assistance centres operate 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week and handle around four million calls a year which, at peak times, can mean two calls every second.

RAC has more than 1,500 patrols that attend around 2.5 million breakdowns each year.
