Jaflong, 48-51 Market Square, Bicester
Is it me or has curry got more expensive? More expensive, later, colder and unpredictable if our delivery from Jaflong is anything to go by, writes Katherine MacAlister.
Which is a shame because things had started off so well.
Our first takeaway from the popular Tandoori restaurant was delicious, prompt and reasonable.
Having just moved to the area, in our opinion finding the right curry house was as important as checking out the local boozer and meeting the neighbours.
Sadly, we soon realised that Jaflong had peaked too early, because the next delivery took over an hour to arrive, cold into the bargain and cost more than £40 for two.
When matched against our previous delivery company, which was always on time, delicious, hot and £30 into the bargain, there was no comparison.
I phoned to complain and they promised us a massive discount.
The bill was still £28 and the standards really hadn't improved much.
VERDICT: Hit-and-miss. We're still looking for that perfect curryhouse - tip-offs would be gratefully received.

Try Arzoo Indian restaurant Bicester also on the market square, the food is excellent. I have not tried it for take away but friends rate it. Certainly eating at the restauant has never been a disappointment. They will make the food as spicy or mild as you request. Well worth a try
