SPEEDWAY: Trump has eye on the future
Oxford Cheetahs boss Allen Trump will test the water as he stages a Premiership challenge on Sunday against Somerset Rebels (7.30pm).
He is keen to see the reaction of the Oxford public and how they respond with a view to moving up to the Premier League next season.
He has put together the best of the Oxford side, and included two former Cheetahs in Australian Mark Lemon, popular Swede Eric Andersson and new Czech sensation Filip Setera.
The Czech Republic under 19 champion could be on the Oxford list for next season.
Danny Betson, Lee Smethills and Kyle Hughes are included along with Rye House ace Adam Roynon.
Oxford: Lemon, Roynon, Setera, Hughes, Andersson, Betson, Smethills.
Somerset: Rider-replacement, Walker, Kramer, Frampton, Hawkins, Katt, Warwick, Bates.
Oxford Cheetahs youngster Brendan Johnston failed in his bid to land the under 15 British Championship at the Stadium on Friday, finishing third in the final.
The honours went to Evesham racer Daniel Greenwood, who won six of his seven races on the night.
Greenwood won the final, then had to race off for the championship against against James Sarjeant.
