SPEEDWAY: Smethills satisfied
SKIPPER Lee Smethills says that it was still a memorable season for the Oxford Cheetahs riders, despite having to settle for the runners-up spot.
"It was hard for us on Sunday," he said.
"Scunthorpe have got such a strong team of good young riders. And they're so quick, especially around their home track.
"But we did well to reach the final, especially considering where Oxford were earlier in the season.
"The semi-final against Plymouth was the highlight for us, that was a real nail-biter.
"It's been good to be part of the Oxford team this year - it's been a highly enjoyable experience."
