Six Nations 2008
Dan the Man

Jeremy Guscott believes the sparkling form of Wasps fly-half Danny Cirpriani has given England coach Brian Aston a real RBS 6 Nations selection headache.

But the England legend reckons Johnny Wilkinson, will just hold on to the No.10 shirt.

Ex-Bath centre Guscott says the lack of an established scrum-half means starting with Cipriani would be a risk for Ashton, but the youngster could make a real impact coming on as a substitute. BBC analyst Guscott said: "It's always a very difficult decision when to pick a new fly-half. With nobody standing out as the obvious scrum-half, it makes it even harder.

"Cipriani should come on from the bench later on in games - get the game started, make things comfortable, and then bring him on.

"He's proved what a wonderful talent he is at Wasps, but he doesn't yet justify a start at international level.

"But if he keeps his head together and continues improving at the speed he is at the moment, he knows he will play for England, and may even push for a Lions spot."
