Oxford Saints went down 10-0 to Sussex Thunder in the BAFL Division 1 Southern Conference on their new pitch at Oxford RFC.

In a game dominated by defences, it was the Thunder who came up with the one good offensive play to claim victory.

Sussex opened the scoring in the first half with a touchdown from wide receiver Phil Allman, with Chris Percival adding the extra point.

The defences continued to cancel each other out in the second half.

Ian Harry and Tyler Kamish both batted down passes in the end zone to deny the Thunder a second touchdown.

And Sussex were eventually forced to go for a field goal, which top kicker Percival slotted home from 26 yards to complete the scoring.
