Karl Walker saw off his Fieldside teammate Mick Bennett in the final of the Arthur Goodwin Handicap Cup to secure his third successive victory in the competition.

The defending champion was in no mood to relinquish his grip on the cup and a break of 28 helped him to a 58-35 win in the first frame.

In the second, Walker stepped up a gear, rattling in breaks of 36 and 24 to cruise home 90-8 and secure victory.

In his semi-final, Walker (scratch) eased to a 2-0 win over Littlemore RBL's Richard Berry (+21) 2-0, while Bennett (scratch) defeated Derek Syrett (+21), from Thame, 2-1.

Bennett will have a chance of avenging that defeat when he takes on Walker again in the Walt Bradbury Cup final at Thame on Tuesday.

In league action, Fieldside's hopes of winning the Premier Division title were dealt a big blow as they lost 5-1 to Witney A.

Lewis Calcutt and Grant Conquest beat Bennett and Paul Robinson respectively to put Witney 4-0 ahead.

Justin Buckingham got the better of Walker in frame five, but Walker hit back to clinch the final frame.

Oracle A and and Witney C played each other twice on the same evening - with both teams winning one of the games.

In the first match, Oracle won 4-2, despite a break of 77 from Witney's Paul Chester during his 2-0 victory over Matty Bramall.

In the other fixture, Witney hit back in style to record a 5-1 win.

Woodstock A moved closer to the Division 1 title following a 5-1 win against House B, consigning the Garsington side to relegation.

Woodstock are five points clear of New Club A with one match each to play.

Phil Smith, Julian Marks and Clive Burnet were in good form as Witeny D secured the Division 2 title with a 6-0 whitewash of Morris Motors A.

In Division 4, Cowley Workers are assured of promotion, but could still be pipped for the title by Ashton A, who have two games in hand.

Westcott need just a single point from their last game to clinch promotion from Division 5, with East Oxford Con also looking a good bet.
