TABLE TENNIS: Maximum man Karl signs off in style
Forum A wrapped up their successful season with back-to-back victories, posting a 6-4 win against clubmates Forum B and a 8-2 success against St James A.
In their clash with their B team, Andrew Flint was starred with two wins, and gave Karl Bushell a fright by losing 14-12 in the decider.
At St James, Andy Misseldine came within a whisker of beating Bushell in straight sets, but the Forum ace survived three match points before taking control of the match.
Misseldine then had the misfortune of catching Greg Boone in blistering form.
Once again, Misseldine was 2-1 up in sets, but Boone found another gear to win the decider 11-5.
Karl Bushell hit maximums in both matches to secure the Warner Cup for the most wins in Division 1 for the 19th time.
Ellis Bicknell hit a maximum to give Forum B a 7-3 victory over Lord Nuffield A.
Lord Nuffield A took their revenge on Vikings A, winning 7-3 thanks to a maximum for Greg Donovan and two for John Barclay.
In Division 2, Lord Nuffield C drew against two-man Haddenham A, and then beat Forum D 7-3.
Division 3 champions Vikings D thumped St James B 9-1, while Dave Casey recorded a maximum as Begbroke B beat Bicester C 8-2.
RESULTS
Div 1: St James A 2, Forum A 8 (K Bushell, G Boone 3); Forum A 6 (K Bushell 3), Forum B 4; Lord Nuffield A 3, Forum B 7 (E Bicknell 3); Lord Nuffield A 7 (G Donovan 3), Vikings A 3.
Div 2: Forum D 3, Lord Nuffield C 7 (P Reynolds 3, J Blanchard 3); Lord Nuffield C 5, Haddenham A 5 (M Scott 3).
Div 3: Begbroke B 8 (D Casey 3), Bicester C 2; Vikings D 9 (M Aistrop 3, J Tremayne 3), St James B 1.
