Magdalen College School (Oxford) captured a staggering seven individual boys' titles at the MegaFinals of the UK Chess Challenge tournament at Oxford Community School.
Daniel Rey (under 17), Jeffrey Levicki (under 16), Matthew Daggitt (under 15), Nathan Sames (under 11), Cameron Hill (under 10), Alex Anderton (under 9) and Henry Phillips (under 8) made up Magdalen's magnificent seven.
The competition, which last year involved more than 72,000 children, began in 1996 and grows in popularity each year.
All the competitors had had to qualify for the MegaFinals through school rounds.
Magdalen's seven champions and all those boys scoring four points or more now go through to the national GigaFinals at Wellington College (Crowthorne) in July when Oxon are set to have 58 representatives.
