POINT-TO-POINT: It's open for Bon Accord
Alan Hill's Bering Gifts has been entered for the members race at Kingston Blount tomorrow
Alan Hill's Bering Gifts has been entered for the members race at Kingston Blount tomorrow

Bon Accord could bid to redeem his reputation at the Vale of Aylesbury with Garth & South Berks point-to-point meeting meeting at Kingston Blount, near Chinnor, on Saturday.

The eight-year-old, trained by Alan Hill at nearby Aston Rowant, ran a blinder to finish second to Amicelli in the Christie's Foxhunters at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Returning to Prestbury Park last month, he was made a warm favourite to go one better in a hunters' chase, but failed to show the same sparkle and was pulled up.

Now back between the flags, Bon Accord can leave that effort behind him by taking the men's open.

Hill always holds a strong hand at his local track, and he has entered seven-times course winner Bering Gifts and Fauntleroy in the ladies' open.

Home By Midnight, who won at Kimble over Easter for Tetsworth trainer Lynn Redman, may also line up along with the likes of Free, Pirate Flagship and Honest Endeavour.

The members race is dominated by Hill, who has six of the seven entries - including Bering Gifts, Mr Splodge, Lucent and Camisky, who also holds an entry in the restricted.

Hill could also be the trainer to follow in the intermediate, where he has entered the well-regarded Lord Brunello, owned by Christopher and Carol Harris, from Britwell Salome.

The first of seven races is 2pm. For the latest going call Talking Point 09068 446061 or go to www.pointtopoint.co.uk.
