Oxford City Stars had two reasons to celebrate after back-to-back South Division A wins in the space of 24 hours.

Saturday's 5-2 victory at Milton Keynes Thunder was followed the next day by another 5-2 success - this time at home to Solihull Barons.

Parading in their new kit, Stars, who were without forward Grant Bailey, got off to the worst possible start, as they went a goal down within 58 seconds when Tom Roles found the net.

But on 16 minutes, parity was restored when Stars' former Milton Keynes player Lee Featherstone slotted home against his old teammates following a great pass from Alan Green.

Thunder's player-coach Michael Knights was sin-binned, but Oxford failed to take advantage, with Harrison Goode's wrist shot bobbling through James Skaife's pads and rolling agonisingly over the line to restore the hosts' lead.

That sparked Stars into action, with Alan Green, who was named man-of-the-match after the game, equalising after Nick Oliver and Will Skaife combined.

Dean Francis put away Kent Johnson's pass for No 3.

Skipper Darren Elliott set up Dean Francis, before Johnson sealed the win with No 5.

Once again without Bailey, Stars started poorly against Solihull, with Stars' netminder James Skaife making a number of stops, before Solihull's Phil Lee was sin-binned for an awful hit on Green.

Oxford took full advantage, with Oliver slotting the opener after Green and Jacob Smith combined.

They doubled their lead when Will Skaife allowed Johnson to score, despite a heavy hit.

Although Solihull clawed one back, Smith restored Stars' two-goal cushion.

Patrick Knightley was sin-binned for a foul, with Steven Rowlands reducing Solihull's deficit.

But Elliott made it 4-2 before Smith and Oliver set up Green for Stars' fifth.
