HORSE RACING: Butler lifted by his flying fillies
 |
| Silver Pivotal (left), seen here winning at York last season, is on course for the Winter Derby |
Gerard Butler may be set to move from his Blewbury yard, near Didcot, later this year - but in the meantime he is eyeing some big prizes with the flying fillies Baharah and Silver Pivotal.
Butler, who announced last week that Churn Stables could be closed on financial grounds, sent out the pair to score impressive wins on the Poly- track.
Baharah was the first to strike, taking a conditions event over an extended mile at Wolverhampton under Hayley Turner by a length and three-quarters from Capricorn Run.
Now Butler plans to send the four-year-old to Dubai with the Godolphin Mile at Nad Al Sheba in March her big target.
A day later, he sent out Silver Pivotal to make a winning comeback at Lingfield,
The filly, who had been off the course since May last year due to a series of niggling problems, swept through on the inside under Turner to beat Alpes Maritimes by a length in a ten-furlong handicap.
The Winter Derby Trial back at Lingfield next month is her next port of call, with the Winter Derby itself the main aim on Saturday, March 15.
