GOLF: The Oxfordshire go clear

The Oxfordshire went clear at the top of Section 1 in the Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League after defeating Frilford Heath 2-1.

Peter Green and Jeff Archer saw off Frilford's Sean Elliott and John Summers 3 & 2 in match one.

Dickie Gavrilovic and Phil Collier levelled matters by edging out Dan Knight and Gavin Rogerson.

But The Oxfordshire's Andy Stubbs and Craig Hinton sealed victory by easing past Ashley Walton and Ben Patterson.

The Oxfordshire 2 (3pts), Frilford Heath 1 (1) (The Oxfordshire first): P Green & J Archer bt S Elliott & J Summers 3 & 2, D Knight & G Rogerson lost to D Gavrilovic & P Collier 2 holes, A Stubbs & C Hinton bt A Walton & B Patterson 4 & 3.

Section 2

Magnolia Park 2.5 (3.5), Brailes 0.5 (0.5) (Magnolia Park first): S Borrett & S Stanley bt S Pendleton & M Foster 2 & 1, R King & S Knox bt J Rose & M Abbotts 5 & 4, M Stokes & S Hunt halved with N Suckling & J Spenle.

Section 4

Hazlemere 1 (1), Waterstock 2 (3) (Hazlemere first): J Stanners & C Paskell lost to K Dempster & D Hill 4 & 3, A Batty & T Wooster bt P Gascoyne & A Bartlett 3 & 2, D Taylor & A Birdseye lost to G Hazledine & P Knightley 2 & 1.
