FOOTBALL: Megan hits hat-trick in Carterton's cup triumph

Oxford Mail Girls League

Carterton's Megan Attenborough smashed a hat-trick to steer her side to a 5-1 victory over Wantage in the final of the Oxford Mail Girls League Under 10 Cup.

Molly Bishop opened the scoring, then Rosie Herridge doubled the lead before half-time in a goalmouth scramble.

The second half saw Holly Clack fire home to reduce the arrears, but Bishop set up Attenborough to rifle in a low shot and make it 3-1.

Two more goals from Attenborough completed victory.

In the Under 12 Cup final, Littlemore edged out Banbury United 2-1.

After a goalless first half, Harley O'Shea put Banbury in front, only for Littlemore to equalise through Sammy Davenport.

Two minutes from time, Zara Bone scored the winner to secure a league and cup double for Littlemore.

Carterton A beat Bloxham 1-0 to win the Under 13 Cup.

Skipper Chloe Billins put Carterton in front after only six minutes with a strong right-foot drive.

After that, Carterton kept things tight, while Bloxham keeper Georgie Menage had to make a number of good saves to keep them in the game.

Oxford Irish eased to a 4-0 victory over Kidlington in the Under 14 Cup final.

All the goals came in the second half, after Kidlington's Chloe Proffitt saw her first-half penalty saved by Irish keeper Hannah Phillips.

Leanne Leahy opened the scoring in the second half, though it needed a couple of deflections to beat the Kidlington keeper.

Tara Hartigan added another goal, before a brace from Kerry O'Sullivan wrapped up victory.

Goals from Stacey Long and Alice Smith gave Swindon Spitfires a 2-1 victory over Chinnor in the Under 15 Cup final, Ella Rackstraw replying.

Georgia Walters scored a treble in Swindon Spitfires' 3-0 win over Benson in the Under 16 Cup final.
