Chinnor FC have won the Super League with two matches to spare.

They beat third-placed Shears 5-4 which, coupled with Three Tuns A being defeated at home to White Lion, brought them the title.

Jon Jukes gave Chinnor a great start as he won the opener 3-0. Dave Exell levelled for Shears with a 3-1 win.

Peter Rouse put the hosts back in front with a 3-1 win, but back came the visitors through Kevin Barefoot as he defeated Mark Laverack 3-2.

Gary Price re-established the hosts' advantage and Alan Syphas put them two ahead with his man-of-the-match performance for a 30.06 average.

Preben Krabben won 3-0 but Roy Pryor sealed the match with a topsy-turvy 3-2 win over Paul Cross.

Three Tuns A trailed 3-0 as Kit Young, Keith Bedding and John Fowler purred for Lion.

Nigel Russell and Phil Addison triumphed for Tuns but Graham Manning took the next for Lion to leave them needing one more set for victory, and Steve Skelton duly obliged to leave Lion level on points with Shears in third.

Paul King put another set on the board as Lions secured a 6-3 victory.

Masons condemned Shelswell to the wooden spoon for the second successive year after a match of literally two halves. Ade Buckingham, Paul Townsend, Ade Larner and Phil Busby put them four up, Larner finishing his set with a 132 checkout.

Back came the hosts through Tim Tricker, Peter Gough, Simon Tricker and Dave Bedborough to level the match at 4-4.

It left Anthony Soal to cap an amazing fightback, but it was not to be as Spencer Buckingham made him pay for countless missed doubles in the final leg to give Masons the spoils.

Goodlake lost 6-3 at home to Three Tuns B. Marcus Wright, Mark Stocker, Sean Holley, Joe Haines, Mark Burns and Paul Cohen all won for Three Tuns.

Hundred Acres beat Shelley 6-3 with wins from Andy Thomas, Kevin Middleton, Dick Foster, Dave Latty, Joe Palmer and Alan Butler.
