With three weeks remaining, Chinnor FC remain on course for the Oxfordshire Super League title as they maintained their six-point lead over Three Tuns A with a hard-fought 5-4 win away to in-form White Lion.

Alan Syphas set the visitors on their way by taking the opening set, with Paul Farnes making it 2-0 before Keith Bedding got the hosts on the board.

Peter Rouse re-established Chinnor's two-set advantage, Olly Varney taking the next for Lion.

Gary Price and Jon Jukes wrapped up victory for the leaders, leaving Steve Skelton and Kit Young to give the scoreline a bit of respectability.

Second-placed Three Tuns A kept up their slim chance of retaining the crown with a 7-2 triumph at Masons Arms.

Ade Larner and Ade Buckingham took the opening two sets for Masons, but after that it was one-way traffic as Phil Addison, Roger Haines, Ronnie Anderson, Nigel Russell, Peter Fisher, Paul Freeman and Steve Foster all won.

With White Lion losing, Shears took a giant step towards sealing third place with a comfortable 6-3 win at home to Hundred Acres.

Alan Butler, Joe Palmer, Dave Exell, Pete Jones, Kevin Wilkins and Martin Turnbull were Shears' winners, while Paul Cross, Preben Krabben and Chris Webb replied.

Shelley Arms entertained Goodlake Arms and came back from 4-2 down to triumph 5-4.

Lyndon Richards put the hosts ahead, with Mark Pryde levelling matters. Les Radford then made it 2-1 to the visitors, only for his brother, Barry, to equalise.

Andy Wood and Mick Wilkes captured the next two for Goodlake, but Shelley hit back by grabbing the final three sets via Simon Powell, Terry Wood and Wes Topley to take the verdict.

After their first success last week, Shelswell were brought back down to earth with a bump as they crashed 8-1 at Three Tuns B.

Shelswell found themselves 6-0 down before they took a set through Simon Tricker.

Marcus Wright, Lee Russell, Marcos Ferrer, Dion Newman, Mark Stocker, Paul Cohen, Joe Haines and Sean Holley were Tuns' winners.
