CRICKET: Damp holiday in The Parks
Oxfordshire suffered a second successive washout as their friendly with Oxford University in The Parks was cancelled due to heavy rain.
Play was called off before a ball could be bowled, just as it had been in Oxon's MCCA Trophy clash against Shropshire on April 27.
They are next due to be in action against Cheshire at Great & Little Tew on Sunday in the same competition.
Oxfordshire captain Ian Hawtin said: "The match was called off early in the morning.
"It was a shame, but the corners of the square were really wet.
"We've got to hope it will be third time lucky on Sunday."
Oxford begin the defence of their Home Counties Premier League Division 1 title at home to last season's runners-up Slough on Saturday.
See Friday's Oxford Mail for a preview of the Oxon clubs involved in the league.
