YOUTH CRICKET: Magical Metcalfe off to flier
Jack Metcalfe was 52 not out as Cumnor began their Oxfordshire section campaign with a 92-run victory over Witney Swifts in Group A of the Nationwide Under 15 Club Championship.
Batting first, Cumnor rattled up 149-2 in their 20 overs, Metcalfe sharing an unbroken third-wicket stand of 85 with James Lee (42).
In reply, Swifts were restricted to 57-9, Pierre DuPlessis taking 3-10.
Combe scored 162-3 in their Group F clash with Charlbury.
Robbie Nicholson (50), Jonathan Bourchier (46) and Mark Francis (37no) starred for Combe, before Charlbury were held to 86-3, despite 34 from Ben Geeson-Brown.
