Shepherd's ton in vain

A classy 102 from Martin Shepherd and a more workmanlike 82 by Rob Keates set Kingston Bagpuize on their way to an impressive 259-7 at Bledlow Village in Division 3.

But it was to prove insufficient as Adam Mould hit an outstanding 137 not out, and with the support of Bob Floyd (44), saw Bledlow to 263-3 in 42.3 overs.

Oxfordshire under-17 batsman Wasim Mehmood hit an unbeaten 92 to rescue Morris Motors Exiles from 8-2 and take them to 184 all out.

Waseem Abbasi then bowled with pace and accuracy to take 5-30 from his 11 overs as Witney Mills were bundled out for 106.

To compound the visitors' misery, they lost two of their four points as they were late submitting their teamsheet.

An accident on the A40 meant three Cumnor 2nd players and both umpires also arrived late for their home match with Wolver- ton Town, which ended in a six-wicket defeat.

Sam Jones (58) starred in Cumnor's 143 all out, which would have been worse without an eighth wicket partnership of 88 between Jones and Hassan Mohsin (30).

Andy Gosling took 4-31 for Town before John Yeo (50) set up a comfortable win.

Chas Taylor (62) and Jim Howe (47) put on 101 for the first wicket, then Mark Robey hit 52 not out as Sandford St Martin declared on 253-6 after 51.5 overs.

Visitors Hanborough were soon behind the rate after losing early wickets, but Matthew Busby (59) and D R Sarvajith (50) led a recovery which ended on 222-7 at the close.

Three half centuries took Cropredy to a seven-wicket win at Dinton 2nd.

Mike Amos-Simpson (61), Michael Naylor (56no) and Luke Cherry (62) helped the visitors reach 204-3 in reply to Dinton's 200-7.

Earlier David Saunders had hit 69 and Darren Risden 45 for the hosts.
