How to reach the ground
Horspath Cricket Club, Tel: 01865 872954. Head towards village from BMW traffic lights on Oxford Ring Road. The ground on the left just as you enter the village.

In its first year back in the Cherwell League the Club achieved its immediate objectives of winning division five and division nine, under the respective captaincy of Adrian Manger and Gordon Hamilton, as well as being awarded the Peter Baker Trophy. Promotion for both teams will again be the objective for this season as the club tries to attain its former playing status.

The youth section led by Paul Smith were finalists in three of the county age groups.

Swaying back and forth in unison to the riffs bouncing off their guitars, you know what to expect with Status Quo. Even if they have become a bit overused in the past 40 years, cliches have a golden core. For many bands, repeatedly playing their successful songs becomes a kind of purgatory ending in a refusal to even listen to their hit singles any more, let alone play them. But this five-piece never seem to tire of their best tracks, and their infectiously energetic live performance got their loyal middle-aged fans shaking the body parts they forgot they had.
