Steve James smashed a double sixer for Littlemore British Legion as they fought back to beat Woodman 2-1 in Section 2, writes ANDY BEAL.

Losing the first leg 18-15, it looked as though Littlemore were heading for defeat.

After hitting four in the first leg, he then clanged off the next 12 dolls as Littlemore won the next two 24-20, 25-17.

Bob Godwin top-scored for Woodman with ten dolls.

Pip Goulding bagged a 15-doll haul as he helped Queen's Head to a 3-0 away win at Seacourt Bridge.

They won the first 25-22, before winning the remaining legs 26-16, 23-22.

John Weller clanged off 15 dolls in vain as Royal Sun lost 2-1 against Gardener Arms.

Premier side Garsington Sports just got the better of Section 1 side Kidlington Sports.

Set a target of 28 in the opening leg, Garsington were left needing 11 from their last two players to win.

Ken Maunder hit five dolls before anchor man Trevor Greenaway whipped off a six to snatch the leg 29-28.

Garsington took the next leg 25-19, but Kidlington came back with a bang setting 30 in the final leg, with Keith Quinell hitting a six.

Garsington came up three short with 27 in reply.

George closed the gap to two points at the top of the table with a battling 2-1 win at home to White House.

They did it the hard way after losing the first leg 28-29 they drew the second leg 25-25, but won it on a three-stick shoot-out.

George made sure of victory in the deciding leg setting 33, which proved too much as White House could muster only 24.

Mick Berry, who clanged off 15 dolls, and Steve Horne with 14, were the main scorers for White House.

Cricketers stayed top, but dropped a point at home to Star, for whom John Greenaway starred with 15 dolls.

Star won the first leg 25-22, only for Cricketers to hit back and win the next two 31-26, 28-24.

Den Sellar and Barry Townsend both hit 13 dolls.

The top two met in Section 4, and it was Red Lion Islip came away victorious from Quarry Gate 2-1.

Quarry took an early lead, winning the opening leg 23-18, but Red Lion responded well taking the next leg 25-14.

They then set 19 in the final leg and with the last two Quarry players needing only five for victory, they both failed to hit the doll leaving Lion with an unexpected success.

Red Cow A kept up their challenge in Section 7 with a 3-0 home win over Star.

They won the first two legs 16-12, 10-7, but had to rely on a three-stick shoot-out to take the final leg after the sides were locked at 9-9.

Only two dolls separated Vikings Club and Golden Ball in Section 8.

Vikings set 19 in the first leg, which Golden Ball tied thanks to a superb display from Sammy Turner, who knocked off the four dolls needed to take it into three-stick shoot-out, which Vikings duly won.

Vikings then set the next two legs with 16, which were just enough as Golden Ball fell one doll short each time with 15.

Turner ended up top-scorer with 14.
