AUNT SALLY: Double top for Adams

Greene King Oxford & District League

Philip Adams hit his second double-sixer of the season as Premier Section leaders Cricketers stayed unbeaten with a 3-0 home win against New Club.

Adams's 13 (6-6-3), plus 14 dolls (4-5-5) from both Phil Wilkins and Barry Townsend helped Cricketers take the legs 26-21, 36-23, 28-19.

They top the table by three points at the half-way mark.

Green Road Club remain top of Section 3 after coming from behind to beat Turners Arms 2-1.

They lost the first leg 17-13, won the second 21-17 and had to rely on a three stick shoot-out in the deciding leg after tying 25-25.

Dave Britnell top-scored with 11 dolls including a six.

Quarry Gate slipped to second place in Section 4 after a 2-1 defeat at Whitmore Arms.

Quarry won the opening leg 19-11, but crashed in the next two 18-14, 21-15.

Whitmore Arms' Brian Causby clanged off 13 dolls (3-4-6).

A six apiece from Clive Tutton and Paul Slatford earned Bull a 3-0 win at Red Lion Brill. They took the legs 19-15, 15-12, 23-18.

Section 5 leaders North Oxford Conservative Club beat second-place Rose Hill Dwarfs 2-1.

North won the opening leg 24-15 with Rose Hill battling back to even the score in the second 19-17. The deciding leg went to Con Club 20-16.

Pete Coates led the way for joint Section 6 leaders White House with 13 dolls (5-4-4) in their 2-1 win against Chandos Arms.

They won the first two legs 19-15, 24-17, but lost the third 19-14.

Chandos' Carl Edginton clanged off a six in his 11 dolls.

Star, Eynsham edged out Viking Sports 2-1 as the top two clashed in Section 8.

Star snatched the first leg by the odd doll 16-15, but Vikings came back well in the next 18-16.

Vikings set a reasonable 17 in the decider before Star anchor man Mark Revill sent the leg into a shoot-out, which his side won.

Steady throwing by Nelson A saw them move into top spot in Section 9.

They set and won all three legs against Cavalier A 16-14, 17-15, 15-9. Belmont Chalal bagged 11 dolls (4-4-3).

Fairview lost ground after a shock 3-0 defeat to basement boys Black Boy.

They never looked like winning a leg as they crashed 14-13, 17-10, 19-13.

Martyn Boulton clanged off a dozen dolls (5-2-5) as Donnington Arms come from a leg down to beat The Fox Sanford in Section 11.
