Kay Reynolds won the senior women's 100m hurdles

Radley A made a promising start to their Southern Women's League Premier Division campaign as they finished an creditable second at Bracknell on Saturday.

Emma O'Hara recorded a double victory in the under 15 girls' competition, throwing personal bests of 8.42m and 24.09m in the shot and discus respectively.

Sophie Henderson and Luccia Rennie also recorded personal bests in the A and B string javelin competitions, recording throws of 13.29m and 11.27m.

Other victories in the under 15 competition came from Susan Keet, who clocked 28.3secs in the A string 200m, and Kim Sutherland, who leapt 4.35m in the B string long jump.

In the senior section, Kay Reynolds began her season in style with a win in the A string 100m hurdles, clocking 14.9secs.

Sarah Dutton won the A string high jump, clearing 1.55m, while Reynolds won the B string event with a leap of 1.50m.

Stacey Middleton clocked a personal best of 18.2secs in the 100m hurdles, while Aislinn Baird threw a best of 31.50m in the hammer.

Louise Brown competed in her first 300m hurdles, clocking a time of 50.4, and she also recorded 12.9 in the 80m hurdles.

Result: 1 Reading 209pts, 2 Radley 128, 3 Brighton 111, 4 Basildon 87.
