ATHLETICS: Kimber and Dean on song for Oxon
Steve Kimber and Hatti Dean (pictured) produced impressive displays as Oxfordshire's men's and women's teams finished in creditable positions at the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championship at Nottingham's Wollaton Park.
In the men's event, Oxfordshire's athletes battled hard to finish 16th out of 30 teams, while the women's team were 17th out of 27.
Kimber clocked 39mins 54secs on the 12km course in the men's race, which brought him home in 57th place in a large field.
And Dean, who still represents Oxfordshire despite running for Hallamshire Harriers, clocked 28.53 in the 8km women's race, finishing 13th.
Elsewhere, Melissa Hawtin (Oxford City) led home her teammates in the under 15 girls' competition, finishing 13th in the 4km race in a time of 15.32.
