ATHLETICS: Atyeo stars in Witney triumph
Witney Roadrunners Tony Lock, George Reynolds, Lazloe Boden and John Atyeo won the men's team category in the Clanfield Off-Road Relays.
Anchor man John Atyeo clocked the second fastest time of the day, crossing the line in 19mins 48secs to secure first place.
Lock, running the first leg, recorded 20.19, with Reynolds clocking 20.24 on leg two and Boden 21.43 on leg three.
Witney's combined time for the four legs was 1hr 22mins 15secs.
Woodstock Harriers finished second in 1.24.28 with Eynsham Roadrunners third in 1.25.27.
In the women's race, run over three legs, Woodstock Harriers won the event in 1.14.24 with Eynsham second in 1.15.32.
A team of four Oxford City vet 60s put in some fine runs in atrocious conditions at the Bath Half Marathon.
In a field of more than 15,000, Dave Parsons (1.22.45), Gareth Jones (1.23.23), Roy Treadwell (1.23.27) and Allan Matthews (1.28.43) all finished in the top 500.
