United must share it around - Patto
OXFORD United manager Darren Patterson is urging others in the side to chip in with some goals - to take some of the weight off in-form Matt Green.
Green has notched five goals in ten starts, but only Barry Quinn and Michael Howard have also found the net for the U's in their last nine matches.
Patterson is hoping one of his midfielders can soon make his mark.
"We need more goals and for others to chip in apart from the strikers," he said.
"That's why I was so agitated after the game at Stafford. We played well, but getting three or four would have been a massive confidence-booster.
"We'll have to get them at Halifax now instead, but that will be a tough game."
The U's boss is taking a big squad of 20 to Yorkshire for tomorrow's game at The Shay.
With the second game of the Easter programme, against Stevenage, following just 48 hours later, and several United players struggling to play two games in a week, he needs everybody possible available.
So transfer-listed trio Carl Pettefer, Eddie Hutchinson and Yemi Odubade will all be included in the squad, along with James Clarke, who returns from a one-game suspension, and youngsters Alex Fisher and Declan Benjamin.
"We want to build on last week's win," Patterson said. "I'm taking 20 because we're going to need everybody with two games in quick succession."
Green looks likely to start, but with his recent knee problems, he is one of those who will not be able to last 90 minuters in both games.
"We need some wins. I have to put my best team out and we'll take it from there," said United's manager.
"It's not ideal that quite a few players can't play two games in three days, but that's not down to a lack of fitness," he added.

Matt Green's "injury" is Tendonitous I believe. Maybe Mcallister still has a fragile hamstring. Training and playing football 6 days a week for 'x' number of years has an impact.
talking of injuries though, when will Wilmott actually be fit enough to play? He must be on a fair bit of money and has hardly played this season.
