Oxford United have received a boost ahead of tonight's game at Grays with their weekend injury worries all back in training.

It will give manager Jim Smith the option of naming an unchanged team for the clash at the New Recreation Ground.

Rob Duffy and Paul Shaw were substituted during the second half of United's 3-1 victory at Altrincham after picking up a knock, and feeling a back strain respec- tively.

But the duo, a below-par Eddie Hutchinson, and right wingback Eddie Anaclet all trained yesterday, leaving Smith with an interesting dilemma.

He had been looking at recalling Anaclet after a dead leg, but Matt Day, who replaced him at Moss Lane, did a solid job, and also came up with the crucial late goal which turned the match.

Smith said: "Paul's OK, Eddie trained and Hutch will be OK. I've not decided on the line-up yet, I'll see how they all look in the morn- ing."

However, he feels United will go into the game full of confidence after banging in three goals for the first time this campaign.

"Grays will be a very different proposition to Altrincham, but we're going into the game in a very different way," he said.

"We're going into it on the back of a win, 3-1 away from home, and we'll go in with a lot more spirit than we went into Saturday's game, which was possibly a little nerv- ously."

Day said: "Grays will be a harder game because they're more in your face and will come right at us.

"We've just got to face them and do what they do to us. But it will be a tough game and the lads will have to pull themselves together, work as a team and scrape out a result."

The former Portsmouth defender believes United are on track for a successful season, and they could even have been top by now if they had only seen games out.

"We've let sloppy goals in late on," he said. "We've got to stop these lapses of concentration. We defend solidly for 70-75 minutes then one lapse of concentration and they get in."

Despite his goal, though, Day wasn't sure if he would keep his place.

Smith had previously hinted that he would prefer Anaclet at right wingback because he is more comfortable in that position.

At the weekend, he said: "Hopefully Eddie will be fit for Tuesday. Nothing against Matty, but you need a natural one there.

"But Matt did well and he's been a great signing for us because he's done well wherever he's played."

Grays will be without Ernie Cooksey after he was sent off just 11 minutes into Saturday's game against Forest Green, which Rovers went on to win 1-0.
