It's not always easy to search Oxford City Council's planning portal but it's always worth a look because there are always some interesting stories tucked away - it's just a case of sorting the wheat from the chaff.
This week I was alerted to the fact that Wilding - a top class wine bar in Little Clarendon Street will soon be turning into a Japanese restaurant.
A quick visit confirmed what was noted on the planning documents and staff said they would be serving diners for the last time on Saturday.
It seems a shame that a business which was set up just a few years ago is now having to close.
But the small Japanese restaurant chain Kibou, which also has restaurants in Cheltenham, Battersea, and Solihull, will add some colour to the trendy street off Jericho.
Little Clarendon Street is usually a peaceful place but the student protests nearby on Thursday will have changed that at least for a short time.
Hopefully we can all enjoy a peaceful weekend with at least some sunshine.
