School evacuated after chemical spill

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a report of a chemical spillage at Chipping Norton Leisure Centre shortly before 7am this morning.

The spillage was contained to prevent the risk of a gas leak and the chemicals absorbed using dry sand.

Chipping Norton School, adjacent to the leisure centre was evacuated, but pupils have since been allowed back.

Quite exciting day at school we had, got to watch decontamination of the firemen, was weird, felt like something from a film, everyone was a bit paranoid about getting poisoned, but it turned out fine in the end.
