This is the face of a man wanted in connection with an assault on a teenage girl.

A 15-year-old was walking down an alleyway, just off the Challow Road, Wantage, when a man followed her.

He held her arm and attempted to kiss her, but she managed to escape. The assault happened at around 3.30pm on March 17 but oolice released the information and picture today.

Pc Carl Bryant, investigating the incident, said: "The girl was left very shaken by this incident. We are keen to speak to anyone who may recognise this man as he may be able to help us with our enquiries. He is white, around 18-years-old, about six ft and was wearing a cream coloured top and jeans."

Anyone with information should speak to Pc Bryant on 08458 505505 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Rapists, Paedophiles, sex cases, stabbings, muggings, attacks, vandalism.....am i talking about some inner city drug haven ? No, all happened in Wantage in the last 6 months. I can only think that other than In breeding, theres not much else could happen here.

No in-breeding in Wantage? Im afraid you aint been here long matey.....been going on for years and the ones with 6 fingers on each hand are some of the more normal ones around here. Wantage the new Didcot.....? Less than 5 years away if you ask me.

Wantage and Grove has easily overtaken Didcot and even Abingdon as the violence, drink, drugs
, and teenage tearaway capital of Oxfordshire

Your all being a bit silly now. If this is the case then would you move to Didcot or Abingdon? the answer is probably No.

Wrong! I have not long moved from Grove to Didcot and I couldn't be more pleased!, the train station is a short walk away, superb shops within walking distance, ample free parking choice of sports centres...and...the neighbours and people in general seem nicer. Maybe I'm biased but for me the grass is greener.

I agree with Billy. I know many people who have now sold up and left Wantage. House prices are ridiculous and will defo depreciate so a local estae agent tells me. The local police say its much worse than gets reported and we are considering moving to Didcot as the area is being regenerated. As there is no work around Wantage/Grove yet 1000s of jobs available in Didcot......it now seems that this area is in full decline. Dont ask me, ask the police, doctors, lawyers, eastate agents and elderly who all seem to think the same. Every area has its time......Chapeltown in Leeds was one of the most expensive places to live at one time.......now? Its the cheapest in Leeds and most are boarded up. Wantage will be next.
