Burglars broke into two pubs and stole hundreds of pounds of cash from one of them.
The Rose and Crown pub in Ashbury, near Wantage, was broken into between 1am and 9am last Tuesday.
The cellar doors were broken into, but nothing was taken.
The White Horse at Woolstone, near Wantage, was also burgled on the same day between 1am and 6.30am.
Thieves got in through the side kitchen door and about £700 was stolen from a till.
Pc Adrian Bray said: "A vehicle was heard screeching away from the White Horse at about 3am, but was not seen.
"I am appealing for anyone who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area to contact me.
"The black drawer from the till and the blue cash tin that contained the money is still missing, so if anyone sees these items I would urge them to contact me."
Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505 or speak anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
