Dozens of jobs to fill at arts centre

Didcot's long-awaited arts centre is nearing completion and now up to 40 staff members are needed to help get it up and running.

Cornerstone, in the Orchard Centre, needs part-time and full-time cleaners, caretakers, administrative support, box office, bar and reception staff as well as volunteers. The centre is hosting a recruitment event on Wednesday, May 14, at Didcot's Methodist Hall, in Broadway, between noon and 7pm for anyone interested.

Bill Service, the cabinet member for leisure at South Oxfordshire District Council, said: "I know there are some great people in Didcot and the surrounding area who will embrace this brilliant opportunity.

"If you have energy, commitment and a passion for arts, culture and entertainment, you must apply for one of the great roles on offer."

The £7.4m centre is due to open this summer and will host cultural and creative activities during the day and night.
