Third vehicle sought after M40 crash

A motorist was injured and taken to hospital following a motorway smash.

A black Ford Focus and silver Ford pick-up truck collided on the M40, around a mile south of junction 9 at Bicester, at 1.40am on Sunday.

The Ford Focus hit the central barrier and ended up in the centre of the carriageway in the second lane.

The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with minor injuries.

Police have only released details today.

Pc Neil Budd, from Bicester Roads Policing, said: "It is possible that there may be a third vehicle involved in the collision which didn't stop at the scene.

"I am appealing for any motorists who may have seen the vehicles involved prior to the collision or anyone who witnessed the collision."

Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or speak anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
