Margaret Wilson
Margaret Wilson, former headmistress of Stephen Freeman Primary School in Didcot, has died aged 78.
Mrs Wilson was born in Witney in 1929 and lived above her parents' grocery store in Corn Street.
She went to teacher training college in Brighton before taking up a post at a local primary school.
In 1955 she took up teaching posts with the British Forces Education Services in Malaya and Germany.
After six years abroad, Mrs Wilson returned to England to teach, and had a daughter, Sarah.
She took up the Stephen Freeman post in 1971 and spent five years at there.
She retired in 1989, having spent the last 13 years at Harnham Infant School in Salisbury where she moved after marrying her second husband, Myles Wilson, in 1976.
Her son-in-law Malcolm Freeman said: "Margaret loved children and was very dedicated to teaching. In fact she never really lost her headmistress ways."
Mrs Wilson moved to Exeter in May last year to live with her daughter due to her declining health.
