Cycling campaigners are concerned about recent changes which have allowed private hire drivers to use the city's bus lanes.

Cyclox is starting to log incidents of dangerous driving in an attempt to get Oxfordshire County Council to reverse its decision to let the city's 357 private hire drivers use the lanes.

The council has allowed private hire taxis to use bus lanes since last month after drivers fought a long battle to be put on an equal footing with the city's 106 black cabs.

Black cabs had been allowed to use the Woodstock Road and Banbury Road bus lanes for the last 12 years, but were kicked out of the Botley Road bus lane in 1996 and only reinstated in 2006.

Cyclox chairman James Styring is now collecting a log of incidents which involve cyclists to present to County Hall when it holds a review on private hire taxis using the lanes next year.
