Man charged with pub murder

Police have charged a man with the murder of father-of-two Stephen Pinker.

Mr Pinker, 43, of Burford Road, Witney, died after he was stabbed in the throat outside The Corner House pub in Hollow Way, Cowley, Oxford, on Tuesday.

Christopher John Philp, 25, of Leiden Road, Wood Farm, Oxford, has been charged with murder and is remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

A 21-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail until May 7.

Police are still appealing for anyone with information on the death to call police on 08458 505505 or speak anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
