Ten Oxfordshire schools and nurseries have been singled out for praise by school inspectors Ofsted in their annual report which is published today.
St Thomas More Catholic Primary School in Kidlington is one of the schools on the "outstanding" list - a huge achievement considering it was deemed to be a school with serious weaknesses last time inspectors visited.
Oxford's Ormerod Special School in Wayneflete Road, Headington, is on the list for the second time as is Grandpont Nursery School in Whitehouse Road, Oxford.
Each year, Ofsted compiles a list of schools which have been judged to be "outstanding providers" of education.
Other Oxfordshire schools on the list are: Dr Radcliffe's CofE School in Bicester, Fritwell CoE Primary School, Beckley CofE Primary School, Frank Wise School in Banbury, Hanwell Fields Community School in Banbury, Lydalls Nursery School and Shellingford CofE School in Faringdon.
The Shellingford school has undergone a complete turnaround, appearing on the list after being in special measures.
