Witney MP David Cameron joined celebrations for th the return of summer Sunday train stopping trains between Oxford and Banbury.
The Conservative leader visited Tackley railway station to lend his support to the newly-branded Oxford Canal Line service with Jacob Roberts and Michael Bartleman, both 13.
Three trains each way will call at Tackley, Heyford and Kings Sutton stations every Sunday throughout the summer.
The service is a joint initiative between train operator First Great Western and Lower Heyford-based canal boat hire firm Oxfordshire Narrowboats, with the help of local councils, British Waterways and the Ramblers' Association.
Special discount fares will mean passengers can travel between Oxford and Banbury for £3, Didcot and Banbury for £5 and Reading and Banbury for £7. Children's tickets are half-price and family tickets are also discounted.
The service will run from Sunday until September 9. For timetables, see www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk or call 08457 484950.
