A notorious road where a driver came within inches of death when his van smashed into a tree could have its speed limit lowered.
Geoff Brewer, 61, from Swindon, was seriously injured when his Peugeot van left the road and smashed into a tree on the B4437 Woodstock to Charlbury road on Tuesday afternoon.
The tree ended up wedged between him and the passenger seat - just a couple of inches the other way and the tree would have crushed him.
Oxfordshire County Council said it was to start consulting on plans to lower the speed limit to 50mph from the current 60mph limit.
