Flooding: Football matches called off

All weekend football matches on Oxford City Council pitches have been called off because they are waterlogged.

Groundsmen inspected pitches across the city and deemed them unfit for Saturday and Sunday league games.

The pitches affected include: Horspath Road, Court Place Farm, Blackbird Leys, Cowley Marsh Barton recreation ground, Hinksey, Quarry recreation ground, Sandy Lane and Cutteslowe.

The cancellations mean Oxford City's British Gas Southern League home game against Hillingdon United tomorrow is among the casualties.

For more details, see the council's website or call 0800 052 1455.
