| No right | | 4:11pm Thursday 20th March 2008 | | We have another example of people power today - in East Oxford. |

One of the penalties of good health is that those who have cheery cheeks or lithesome limbs that allow them to bound up stairs or run for a bus, are never allowed to feel under the weather'. |
| Cabbages and Kings | | 12:53pm Thursday 13th March 2008 | | Until God's relative in the retail world, better known as Sir Stuart Rose, one-time manager of Oxford's Marks & Spencer Queen Street store, and now chairman and chief executive of the whole M&S shooting match, declared plastic bags were bad medicine, they had rarely troubled my waking hours. |
 | The Insider | | 3:59pm Wed 12 Mar 08 | | IT is rumoured that one of the cabaret artists at a St Patrick's supper on Friday - yes, it's taking place a few days early - will be the all-singing, all-dancing Lord Mayor of Oxford, John Tanner. | | Reader comment (1) |
| On Yer Bike | | 5:06pm Monday 10th March 2008 | | THE most common reason for not cycling in Oxford is poor road surfaces, according to a Cyclox survey in February. I'd expected complaints to be dominated by the weather, cycle routes that end just as you most need them, or feeling intimidated by traffic - not bumpy roads. So let's look at these problems:
Bumpy roads: the good news is - it's easy to get them fixed. You can call Oxfordshire highways on 0845 310 1111 or report the problem online at www.oxfordshirehighways.org
An alternative, that in my experience works better, is the CTC's www.fillthathole.org.uk - they'll report the problem and keep you updated about its status. | | Reader comments (12) |

| On Yer Bike | | 4:34pm Monday 3rd March 2008 | | Well, this column seems to be turning out to be like one of those chairs you get in old pubs - everyone who takes it on gets pregnant! | | Reader comments (2) |
| Cabbages and Kings | | 1:07pm Thursday 28th February 2008 | | Half-term found me heading for the West Country - Devon and Cornwall in general, Totnes in particular. I was never a hippie, whatever that was, even though a now long-departed ex-Guardsman landowner described me as such when he saw me tie-less and wearing sandals at Thame Show more than 30 years ago. Nevertheless I enjoy a day in this enduring refuge of the bohemian, the artistic and the wacky. |
 | The Insider | | 6:01pm Wed 27 Feb 08 | | THE ineptitude of First Great Western is nothing new, in fact it's about as frequent as rain. |
