Abingdon Darren Hutchins tributes flood in after his death

Darren Hutchins, 37, was found in Tisley Park on Sunday, March 10 after he was reported missing by a family member.

Police found him in the wooded area and verified his death at 7.50am.

An inquest opening at Oxford Coroner’s Court on Thursday (March 21) heard that a medical cause of death has been given as hanging.

It was heard Mr Hutchins, of Asquith Park in Sutton Courtenay, was a warehouse operative at the time of his death.

The Oxford Mail opened a book of condolence for Mr Hutchins and tributes have been flooding in from family and friends.

Hannah Harding, Mr Hutchins’s sister-in-law, wrote: “Darren, you will be so missed by us all.

"My sister has lost her husband, your parents lost a son and your children their father. RIP Darren.”

Bex Jarvis wrote: “RIP Darren, you were lovely and the best stepdad my nephew could wish for.”

Carole Clack said that Mr Hutchins had a ‘heart of gold’, writing: “My sincere condolences to you all.

"Darren and Samantha went above a beyond for me when I moved here. I'm so deeply sorry for you all and I will remember Darren with a sincere heart of gold.”

Olivia-Ann Stoter said: “Absolutely devastating news. Darren was an amazing guy. Had a heart of gold. I'm so sorry sending love and hugs to Samantha and all his family. Rest easy Darren.”

Mr Hutchins parents and brother also left a tribute reading: “Our hearts are broken and we will miss you for ever and ever. Love mum, dad and your brother Andy.”

School friend Christopher Morgan wrote: “Very sad to learn of Darren’s death.

"I went to Drayton School and John Mason around the same time as Darren and his brother, Andrew. Probably 20 years since I spoke with Darren but he was always a nice lad, as is Andrew.”

Trish Holden said: “Although it's been some years since I've seen Darren, he was the kind of friend that we'd all hope that our sons have. Always a source of encouragement.

“He was a kind man with a truly generous soul and that is what I remember most about him.”

Damian Ebsworth wrote: “Very saddened by the news of Darren. A good guy, loving, great person. I feel for his family and wife and kids. Heartbreaking.”

A full inquest date to establish the circumstances surrounding Mr Hutchins’s death will take place at the same court on June 18 at noon.
