Connex in court over station litter

11:37am Tuesday 6th February 2001

TRAIN company Connex will face Lewisham Council in court after it failed to clean up Forest Hill station, despite a litter abatement notice served last year.

Repeated warnings from the council went unheeded by Connex, and it now faces a £2,500 fine if found guilty at Greenwich Magistrates Court on March 7.

Councillor Paul Fallon, deputy for environment, said: We have given Connex the opportunity to clean up, and it has refused.
