A convoy of travellers has pitched up in a Bicester car park causing concern for residents living nearby.
About 20 vans towing caravans parked up in Claremont car park at the back of Somerfield supermarket last night.
It is believed the travellers had been told to leave Wickes car park in Launton Road but instead of leaving Bicester, they went a short distance along the road to Claremont car park, which is owned and operated by Cherwell District Council.
Eva McCray of Victoria Road, said: "Our street now has more people living in the car park than in the houses opposite.
"The police did turn up, but then departed.
"The noise of the generators was unbearable. It disgusts me."
A number of the travellers still remained at the site this morning.
Somerfield supermarket manager Tam Beyzadecorr said: "It is not affecting business at the moment and we are trading as normal.
"We have increased security at the store."
