Biker killed in road smash

A motorcyclist was killed after he was involved in a collision with a Rover car this afternoon.

The man, who was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, is from Kidlington and was in his late 40s.

He was pronounced dead at the scene in Oxford Road, near Worths Garage,Enstone.

Police are trying to trace the driver of a dark green Peugeot car, who was driving in front of the motorcyclist, just after 4pm.

Anyone with information should call PC Richard Medway on 08458 505505.

Police said the man would be formally identified on Monday, when an inquest would be opened and adjourned.

We were driving back from Bampton this evening when we came across a moped pulling along a cyclist at a pretty rapid speed. HOW STUPID WAS THIS ?!!!

another one! how sad that this getting more common. either car drivers are getting sloppy and not looking, or motorcyclists are taking more risks. in my experience it is the former, and car drivers are just not being careful enough. i feel sorry for all concerned, and hope we won't see too many more stories like this.

I saw a unregistered moped being ridden on the A4074 earlier, very slowly indeed, by someone who looked like he had no idea what he was doing.

Sorry to hear about another motorcyclist being killed, although I do not know what happened, until they start jailing bad unobservant car drivers, preventable collisions will continue....

R.I.P to this poor motorcyclist, however I don't think its fair to blame car drivers for all such accidents! - a lot of motorcyclist drive like complete idiots weaving in and out of traffic at stupid speeds!
