A pensioner had to be rescued from a lift in a block of flats just hours after it was fixed by engineers.
Elderly residents were trapped inside Field House in West Way, Botley, for nine days after the lift in the warden-controlled building stopped working.
It was fixed last night after Vale Housing was contacted by the Oxford Mail, but when an elderly resident tried to use the lift this morning he became trapped inside.
Firefighters rescued the man, who did not need hospital treatment.
Engineers have returned to the sheltered housing block in a bid to repair the lift.
