Police flood city streets
Police flooded Oxford with officers to target known hot-spots in a day of action against drugs.
Following a raid at Gibbs Crescent, about 25 officers were sent on foot patrol to disrupt drug-dealing.
Police carried out patrols in the city centre, Jericho, and along the Botley and Abingdon roads. Two men were arrested in Botley Road on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, while a third was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen property.
A couple were arrested in the city centre on suspicion of drug dealing.
Police also carried out an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) operation in Oxpens targeting vehicles used by drug dealers.
Police spokesman Claire Gourlay said: "Foot patrols were working on intelligence to target known areas and disrupt the drug crime and drug supply. In areas where there are known problems police carried out a number of stop-and-searches."

As a Botley born and bred person, I remember the days when my family could live without the fear of drugs - since alot of homes have been let instead of bought, the drugs problem starts to infiltrate the area. Thanks to the police for clearing the scum, rather than care if they do it one day or 365 days, I'm just glad they do it - drugs have ruined this country and so many peoples lives - why do people want to get hooked only to live a miserable existance - no matter what life was before drgus you have a better chance of getting osmething out of life wihtout drugs.

If the police came up to Lime Road / Arnold's way more often they would see a lot of suspicious exchanges going on between cars in the playground car park on any given night of the week. A a parent with teenagers this worries me a lot.
