School visitor is Korking success
Children from an Oxford primary school were given a treat today when illustrator Korky Paul dropped in to open their new kitchen.
Pupils at New Marston Primary School got the chance to speak to the world famous illustrator, whose work includes Winny the Witch and Pirates.
He is pictured with Manila Abdurakhmonova, five, and Thomas Farrell, six.
Headteacher Zara Darchambaud said the day was wonderful for the children as many of them were big fans of the illustrator.
She said: "It was great for the kids and Korky was absolutely fantastic."
The school, in Copse Lane, has been without a kitchen since January when its old dining block was demolished to make way for a new children's centre that is due to open in June.
