UPDATE: Two car crash blocks A40

A collision between two cars on the A40 near Oxford has closed the road.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident at around 11.30am today.

The incident shut the road between the A44, Woodstock Road, and B4449, near Wolvercote.

A blue Volvo heading towards Oxford was involved in a head-on collision with a green Peugeot.

Two passengers in the Volvo and the driver of the Peugeot were cut from their vehicles and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital. The air ambulance was called to the scene, but was not used.

Traffic was built up in both directions and the road was expected to be closed for two hours.

Yet another A40 crash. All because people are in a hurry and overtake on silly parts of the road.

Wouldn't it be easier to make A40 more compliant with the traffic that it is asked to carry than blame the drivers? If your business does not do well you do not blame your customers!

Unfortunately, i was the driver cut free on 23rd april, i am a very lucky man, to be alive that is! however my collision with a tree at high speed was nothing to do with the a40 though i was leaving it, and alot of the accidents i have been reading about sound like similar strokes of bad luck :(
